Sky Roamer « Thread Started on Sept 1, 2008, 1:34pm »
Name: Sky Roamer
Gender: Femme
Age: 2
Breed: Gray Wolf
Appearance: Sky is a petite wolf with regular grey wolf coloring. Her top coat is silver and the under coat is a light grey. Her eyes are large, yellow and questioning, set over a delicate muzzle. She is thin but wiry and despite her feminine and delicate appearance she is a survivor.
Personality: Sky is socially inept. Having been a loner for a long period of time, she is wary of groups and prefers solitude. Having grown to maturity alone, Sky has not had to think about breeding and pups, and indeed, pups seem like some far off thing in her mind. This does not mean that she is all naiveté and innocence. She has fought before against other loners and is not afraid to take a challenge, however, living alone in the wild has taught her to conserve energy so she does not anger especially quickly. She is impassive and difficult to read. One could goad her and would not see a reaction until she reaches her breaking point. At which time the attack is swift and merciless.
History: Sky was born to a small pack, just her parents, her aunt and her siblings. Her mother had been a loner like Sky was now until she had found her mate. When game became scarce the pack moved on. During their trek to find a new den they ventured too close to human territory. Sky’s aunt was caught in a trap and her father refused to abandon her. Sky watched as their close bonds destroyed them both when the humans came back the next day. She, her two brothers, and her mother fled up to the mountains far away from humans, but also far away from other wolves because of the cold and the lack of prey. Their father escaped and caught up with them, but he was badly injured and died shortly of an infection.
The death of her mate drove Sky’s mother insane. She insisted on heading up to the mountains. When Sky couldn’t keep up because of her size she was left behind. Only just old enough to hunt; Sky barely survived that first year. She has wandered alone since then, becoming an expert hunter and survivalist.
RP Sample: Painful growls filled the femme’s belly as she stalked through the forest. The recent snowfall had reduced the amount of game in the area and Sky Roamer hadn’t eaten in a while. Her golden orbs searched the new fallen snow for tracks and her keen ears swiveled on her skull, searching for any sound of prey.
She stopped. There. To the right, a rustling in the bush. Sky dropped down and slinked closer silently. The rustling stopped and the wolf held her breath. Out hopped a snowy white hair. It’s nose twitched and it blinked it’s beady black eyes rapidly. Sky was now glad it was winter, in the summer the rabbit would have spotted her, but against the snowy backdrop she was camouflaged.
Suddenly Sky sprang. The hare, sensing the sudden movement, fled. But Sky had the lead she needed. Fueled by need she raced through the forest, feeling for all the world like she was flying. Her bright pink tongue lolled out of the side of her mouth and her eyes did not leave her target.
She could feel her heart pounding in her rib cage. Tha-thump. She was closing in. Tha-thump. Only a foot behind now. Tha-thump with a single triumphant leap Sky pounced on her prey, clamping her jaws down and ripping savagely. Blood pooled around it and dyed the snow a deep crimson. Her muzzle was the same color as the femme filled her belly. She raised her dripping muzzle and howled triumphantly in the empty wood.
